Privacy Policy — Pet Expense Tracker & Budget

This privacy policy explains what information Pet Expense Tracker & Budget ("the App") collects, how it's used, and your choices regarding that information.

Summary

The App is designed to work entirely on your device. There is no account, no sign-up, and no server that stores your pet, expense, or budget data — everything you enter stays on your phone unless you choose to export it yourself. The only data collection that happens is through the advertising and crash-reporting services described below.

Information stored on your device

The App stores the following information locally on your device only:

• Pet profiles (name, species, photo)
• Expense records (amount, category, date, notes, receipt photos)
• Budget settings
• Recurring expense reminders

None of this information is transmitted to us, stored on a server, or shared with any third party. It exists only on your device and in any backup you create through Android's own backup system or through the App's CSV/PDF export feature, which you control.

Uninstalling the App, or deleting a pet or expense within the App, permanently removes that data from your device.

Photos

If you attach a receipt photo to an expense, the App uses Android's built-in Photo Picker, which lets you select a single photo without giving the App broader access to your photo library. The selected photo is stored only on your device, the same as any other App data.

Advertising (Google AdMob)

The App shows banner ads and offers optional rewarded video ads (to unlock bonus features like ad-free periods or app themes) through Google AdMob. To serve ads, AdMob collects your device's advertising identifier and may use it for advertising and marketing purposes, including personalized ads where permitted.

For users in the European Economic Area, the UK, and Switzerland, the App uses Google's User Messaging Platform to request your consent before showing personalized ads, in line with applicable privacy law. You can decline personalized ads through that consent flow; the App will still show non-personalized ads.

Google's use of data collected through AdMob is governed by Google's own privacy policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy

Rewarded ads are entirely optional and never required to use any core feature of the App — adding, viewing, or exporting your pet and expense data always works without watching any ad.

Crash and diagnostic reporting (Firebase Crashlytics)

The App uses Firebase Crashlytics to detect and diagnose crashes and technical errors. This service collects device information and crash logs to help identify and fix bugs. This data is used only to improve the App's stability and is not shared with third parties for advertising or other purposes.

Permissions the App requests

• Notifications — used to deliver recurring-expense reminders and (if you enable it) daily tips. You can disable either notification type in the App's settings or through your device's notification settings at any time.

The App does not request access to your contacts, location, camera roll (beyond the one-time Photo Picker selection described above), microphone, or SMS.

Children's privacy

The App is not directed at children and is not part of Google Play's Families program. We do not knowingly collect information from children.

Your choices

Because the App stores data only on your device, you're always in control of it: delete a pet, expense, or the App itself to remove that data permanently. For advertising identifier data collected by AdMob, you can reset or limit ad tracking through your device's Google Settings > Ads menu.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the "Last updated" date at the top will be revised. Continued use of the App after a change means you accept the updated policy.
